IC 10 (GLX)

../dss/dss2blue_002023.16_+591734.70_7_web.jpg
Image source: DSS II (blue) - 7×7'
Name: IC10, UGC192
Group: Local Group
Type: GLX
Constellation: Cas
Coordinates: 00h20m23.16s / +59°17'34.70"
Brightness / Size: 10m4 / 6.4x5.3'
Robert Zebahl
8" f/6, 96x, Bortle 5, NELM 5m5+, SQM-L 20.8
Roundish with an angular size of about 1', evenly bright, very faint, directly next to a 12.78m star. Only the brighter central area was visible.

DIFFICULT
8" f/6, 80x, Bortle 4, SQM-L 21.0
Roundish, evenly bright. Overall rather faint.

MODERATE
René Merting
12.5" f/4.5, 160x, SQM-L 21.5

55mm f/9.1, 40x, Bortle 6, NELM 5m0+, SQM-L 19.1
Just a short try.

FAILED
8" f/6, 66x, Bortle 6+, NELM 5m0+, SQM-L 19.6
Extremely faint, oval haze.

DIFFICULT
8" f/6, 80x, Bortle 4
Large, very faint, oval. Low surface brightness! At 37x a faint glow can be guessed.

MODERATE
René Merting
B 18x70, SQM-L 21.5

FAILED
55mm f/9.1, 40x, Bortle 6, NELM 5m0+, SQM-L 19.1
Extremely faint, slightly oval, nearly equally bright, relatively large. Almost held with averted vision.

DIFFICULT
4.5" f/8, 45x, Bortle 7
Very faint, roundish to slightly oval. Nearly evenly bright. Barely seen with averted vision. Observed from city.

DIFFICULT
8" f/6, 66x, Bortle 6+, NELM 5m0+, SQM-L 19.6
At 37x slight brightening toward the middle, oval, pretty large, diffusely fading. Overall rather faint. At 66x still faint, but barely visible with direct vision.

EASY
8" f/6, 37x, Bortle 4
Large, faint, oval with brighter core area. Barely seen with direct vision. Better seen at 80x.

EASY
René Merting
B 18x70, SQM-L 21.5

55mm f/9.1, 55x, Bortle 6, NELM 5m0+, SQM-L 19.1
Pretty faint, small, round, evenly bright.

MODERATE
4.5" f/8, 75x, Bortle 7
Fairly easily seen, round with much brighter core area.

MODERATE
8" f/6, 66x, Bortle 6+, NELM 5m0+, SQM-L 19.6
At 37x evident with averted vision, small, condensed. At 66x well visible with direct vision, pretty small.

EASY
