With averted vision well visible, large, oval, getting a bit brighter toward the middle. In comparison to many other galaxies this one appeared more granulous than diffuse. The bright alpha Leo should be placed outside of field of view. A narrow field eyepieces like an orthoscopic one might be a good choice. At hazy skies alpha Leo could outshine the galaxy and make it difficult or even not visible.

144x war noch zu gering als Vergrößerung, weil ich den hellen Stern Regulus nicht aus dem Gesichtsfeld des 10 mm Ethos bekommen habe - bei 240x dann endlich und ohne Regulus im GF ploppt die Galaxie direkt auf - unerwartet hell (also nicht wirklich hell) und oval beim Einschwenken mit dem Teleskop
